Who am I now?

I came to America about forty years ago. Now, forty years has passed and my children have all grown up and will soon get married and have their own children. They will buy their own house and move out.

Meanwhile, I am gettting older and very soon I will bereaching the age of seventy. I am retired now and I will for the first time be able to relax myself and enjoy my own life. Raising children has been my whole life. Now I have finally finished my task. I can't believe how quickly time flies!

I am no longer a middle-aged woman and I am a senior citizen now. But I feel I have just started a new life and I still have long way to go.

About Me

My name is Sau Ha Hor. I am Chinese, as you can see from my photo. I speak Cantonese, some Mandarin and a little English. I live in Chinatown, New York City.

I come from Hong Kong. I grew up in Hong Kong and really like the city. I came to America in 1982 and have been here for almost 25 years. I am married and have 3 children. They are all married and have their own families now. I am retired now and am not working outside home any more. I used to work in a restaurant in Chinatown.
Hong Kong HOng Kong

I am retired and I am not working outside home any more. I stay home to take care of my husband who is old. I have a hppy family and I like taking vacations with them. We enjoy our life here. I am also taking an ESL class in BMCC (Borough of Manhattan Community College). I like to learn English, but I find it very hard to learn English at my age. Am I too old to learn? Maybe. Maybe not. But I will give it a try.
